Yesterday was Kyle's birthday! His mom made a special visit to the school and brought the whole class a special surprise, cupcakes!!! (Thanks Mrs. I!) Kyle enjoyed his mom's visit and so did we! Here are some pictures of them!

Assignment from our Counselor ~ Mrs. Hedrick
Parents and Students,
Mrs. Hedrick, our new school counselor, has given an assignment that will be due next Monday, March 2, 2009. Each student received an interview form that they will use to interview an adult that they know. The questions are about their career. Students are trying to learn more about careers and what it takes to succeed at getting to the ultimate goal - "what they want to be when they grow up!"
Please remind students of this assignments! They have a whole week to complete it! Thanks in advance!

Special Visit on President's Day!!!
This past Monday, which was President's Day, Kiana was able to have her "special" lunch with Mrs. Hartsell. (her first grade teacher) McDonald's was her restaurant of choice, which Mrs. Hartsell bought and delivered! During lunch, they discussed their favorite book series Twilight. Mrs. Hartsell even brought her a Twilight Calendar. Kiana had a great time and so did Mrs. Hartsell!!! :) Thank you so much for everything Mrs. Hartsell. We enjoyed the visit tremendously!!! Here are some pictures from Kiana's special day.

Student of the Week for 2.2.09
Congratulations to La'Shay for being chosen as Student of the Week. Ciamara chose her because she said La'Shay has become very involved and participates in the classroom and she works hard to complete assignments! Great job La'Shay!La'Say was born in Little Rock, AR. Her favorite book is Tales of a 4th grade nothing by Judy Blume. She has one wish and that is to go to college one day! :) Her favorite food is fajitas. (Yummy) La'Shay says that one thing she does well is division. Her favorite animal is a cheetah. La'Shay admires her mama. The thing that La'Shay likes most about our school is math in the classroom.
Congrats La'Shay on a job well done! :)
We look forward to seeing who La'Shay chooses next week and why!

Parents ~ We are beginning to run low on Kleenex and Handsoap. It would be greatly appreciated if you could send some with your child to school! Thanks in advance! :)
Also, we are trying to collect 100 BOXTOPS by Tuesday the 100th day of school! The winner gets a Nacho Party. So before you throw away those boxes...check to make sure you are not throwing away one of those precious box tops!
